Microneedling is a skin treatment involving the use of an electric skin-needling device. During microneedling, it breaks down old scar tissue and stimulates skin cell regeneration.
Microneedling is safe for use on any type and color of skin.
Most patients notice an immediate brightening of their skin. Over a period of several days and weeks, the skin undergoes visible changes. After a treatment, results can continue to improve for up to six months because collagen production continues.
One treatment is all that’s needed for some patients to see optimal results. However, most patients need a series of three to four treatments separated by six to eight weeks. It is recommended that patients with deep wrinkles, photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars receive 6-8 sessions, one session every six weeks.
